Screw you guys, I’m going home
So I’m sure if you got to this blog via Nashville Is Talking, you already know the shitstorm that has rained down upon NiT moderator/author Brittney Gilbert for linking to a bullshit, vile post by some asshat and not being explicit in her headline or in body copy about her opposition to the nastiness of said post.
And you also have probably read that Brittney resigned today, too, amidst the sack of assholes calling her—a well-known liberal herself—a racist force for the right-wing hate agenda.
Sigh.
Such morons among us.
I have to wonder, though, if these so-called lefties actually are liberal as they say they are and are really, truly offended. I mean, I hate to get all political conspiracy theory on you, but come on. As far as right-wing bloggers around here go, Brittney was pretty much their Hillary Clinton. I wouldn’t put it past anyone psycho enough to trumpet the virtues of going to war under false pretenses George W. Bush the right-wing agenda to jump at the first chance to latch onto something that could be made into a war over “she said this no she meant that no that’s crap yeah well she didn’t SAY it was crap” just to see if they could get her fired.
I mean, come on people. Do we really have to type “[/sarc]” at the end of every post that contains sarcasm? Do we really have our heads up our asses that far that we can’t just say, “Oh shit. I totally misread her headline. MY BAD.”
No, seriously. Do we? I’m afraid to be sarcastic now.
I wish Brittney luck in whatever she does next. She is a talented blogger (stop laughing, it is not easy to post all freaking day with things that will engage a widespread and diverse audience. Not that I would know, since I’ve never been able to pull it off—or even attempted it. I’m just going on what I’ve heard here people) who was a great asset to a great community, and I’m glad I was a small (small, small, small) part of NiT.
